AFCONA - 1503

AFCONA - 1503 is a modified fatty acid polymer in a water solution, free of solvents and amines. This product is a universal dispersing resin with self-emulsifying properties and is suitable for use in VOC-free pigment concentrates, in the production of tinting systems where low shear force is used, and in systems with a wide pH range. AFCONA - 1503 finds application in water- and solvent-based decorative paint systems.

Wetting and dispersing additive Modified Fatty Acid Polymer, free of solvents and amines AFCONA-1503 is a dispersing resin with self emulsifying properties. AFCONA-1503 in combination with AFCONA-4560, has been developed to be considered suitable for the production of VOC-free pigment concentrates.The excellent compatibility of this combination with both water- and solvent-based decorative paint systems, means these concentrates are suitable for the production of tinting systems where only low shear force (shaking machines) is used. The chemical character of AFCONA1503, makes it suitable in systems with a wide pH-range (5-12). Remark : Due to higher binder content than resin free concept, it allows less pigment loading.Addition and dosage for pigment concentrate:Inorganic pigments : 4 - 5 times of solid dispersantOrganic pigment : 3 – 5 times of solid dispersantIncorporation AFCONA – 1503 is recommended to add in before milling.StorageAFCONA – 1503 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 3 years from the date of manufacture. The expiry date is indicated on the container.
