Acti-Min® PG

Acti-Min® PG is a carefully produced, high quality, kaolin clay designed for the paint industry. It is also well suited to adhesives, sealants, and white rubber applications.

Strict attention to the clay source and to process control assures a consistently high brightness and suitable particle size for the use in the contractor-grade paints. The naturally fine particle size of Acti-Min® PG keeps the +325 Mesh low and has a higher percentage of particles less than 0.5 microns compared to coarser clays. This size distribution allows the paint formulator to maximize the hiding power of titanium dioxide (TiO2), while reducing overall formulation cost.

REINFORCING FILLERS Kaolins, clays Fine particle-sized kaolin clays are used as reinforcing extender pigments in foam rubber, automotive hoses and belts, shoe soles, wire and cable, rubber tires for lawn equipment, garden hoses, rubber floor mats and tiles.Air-float kaolins are commonly used in certain enamel paints, primers, sealers and wood stains. They provide sheen and gloss control, enamel holdout, anti-settling and sanding properties. Acti-Min® PG grade is highest brightness product. Combined with it’s very fine and narrow particle size distribution in the 0.25 micron range, PG has shown to be more effective at TiO2 extension in latex paint than higher cost water-washed kaolins.
