ACURE™ 500

ACURE™ 500 is the first generation of blocked catalyst used in ACURE™ systems. ACURE™ 500 consists of a strong base which is blocked with di-ethyl carbonate. ACURE™ 500 unblocks with the release of alcohol and CO2 and is the key enabler to the provision of fast dry times with long pot lives in ACURE™ coatings. The rate at which ACURE™ 500 unblocks may be controlled by the addition of an alcohol (typically ethanol, n-propanol, or n-butanol) to the ACURE™ coating.
