AFCONA - 2501

Defoamer for water-based paint. AFCONA-2501 is a silicone based defoamer containing small amount of silicone to give better deaeration. It recommended for all kind of water-based coatings ranging from decorative paints to water based printing inks. AFCONA-2501 is especially suited for all kind of water-based coatings. For colorant grinding where high shear forces are needed for a long time, AFCONA-2502 or AFCONA – 2503 will be a better choice.

Defoamers Silicone containing, defoaming for waterbased AFCONA-2501 is recommended for below systems:1) High PVC and low PVC emulsion paints based on pure acrylic or modified acrylic and PVA emulsions2) water based flexo inksRemark : After certain time of storage, separation could happen, therefore: SHAKE BEFORE USE.Addition and dosage0.1– 0.5% on total formulation. In general at normal conditions, the dosage is 0.2 – 0.3%. In order to obtain good defoaming in final paint, it is recommended to separate the dosage in mill based and let down. Ideal for in mill bases is the use of AFCONA-2502 or AFCONA2503.IncorporationAFCONA-2501 must be added under low shear forces.StorageAFCONA-2501 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 3 years from the date of manufacture.
