AFCONA – 2524
AFCONA – 2524 is an effective water-based defoamer for PU and Acrylic based emulsions. AFCONA – 2524 is a silicone based defoamer specially developed for all kind of water-based systems. It can be used in systems with PVC 0 – 25% and is also suitable for emulsions based on a combination of acrylic and polyurethane.
Defoamers Silicone containing defoamer in emulsion form for water-based systems The advantages of AFCONA 2524 are: 1) Very easy to incorporate under low shear forces where it will not cause any craters and will not affect the levelling properties of the coating. 2) Next to the good defoaming properties it also works as a good levelling agent. According to the theory adding defoamers normally will affect the levelling and adding levelling agents will cause foaming. Therefore, AFCONA 2524 is the perfect balance between defoaming and levelling. If in some cases the levelling is still not sufficient, a small amount of AFCONA -3570 or AFCONA - 3522 can be added. 3) Will not affect the colour acceptance of the system. Addition and dosage 0.1 – 2.0% on total formulation. In general at normal condition, the dosage is 0.2 – 0.3%. Incorporation AFCONA-2524 should be mixed at the beginning of the production/application into the system. Storage AFCONA-2524 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 2 years from the date of manufacture.
