AFCONA - 2720

Anti-foam and deaeration additive for use in unsaturated polyesters, coil and can coatings, epoxies and PVC-compounds. AFCONA-2720 supports the quick deaeration of thermosetting resin systems, so that foam and blister-free self-levelling compounds and laminates can be processed. In can and coil coating, choosing a defoamer is very critical. A wrong choice will result in inconsistence occur of crater in the line. AFCONA - 2720 is the suitable defoamer for this application as it gives very little side effects like others defoamers do. 

Defoamers Defoamer containing silicone free polymers AFCONA-2720 can be used in pigmented or non-pigmented resin systems such as: 1) unsaturated polyesters (SMC/BMC gelcoats and synthetic mortars) 2) two-pack epoxies 3) Polyester/melamine stoving systems 4) PVC-compoundsIn high pigmented and high viscosity systems, incorporation of a suitable dispersing agent will reduce the viscosity. This will help to improve de-aeration. Products like AFCONA – 5010 is suitable for extender rich systems and AFCONA – 4070 and AFCONA – 4047 are suitable for inorganic and organic pigments. Remark : It contain 0.40% of 2-Butanone Oxime Addition and dosage0.1 -1.0% on total formulation. In general at normal conditions, the dosage is 0.2 – 0.5% based on total formulation. IncorporationAFCONA-2720 can be incorporated through simple mixing. A homogeneous mix will increase the efficiency. StorageAFCONA-2720 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture.
