AFCONA - 2723

Defoamers Silicone based defoamer AFCONA-2723 can be used in pigmented or non-pigmented resin systems such as: 1) unsaturated polyesters (SMC/BMC gel coats and synthetic mortars) 2) two-pack epoxies 3) Polyester/melamine stoving systems 4) PVC-compounds In high pigmented and high viscosity system, incorporation of a suitable dispersing agent will reduce the viscosity and this will helps to improve de-aeration. Products like AFCONA – 5010 is suitable for extender rich system and AFCONA – 4070 and AFCONA – 4047 are suitable for inorganic and organic pigments. Note: AFCONA – 2723 will become slightly hazy at temperatures below 5° C. This will not influence the qualityAddition and dosage 0.1 -0.5% on total formulation. In general under normal condition, the dosage is 0.1 – 0.3% based on total formulation Incorporation To avoid foam- and bubble-formation AFCONA-2723 should be mixed at the beginning of the production/application into the system. If it is added at the end of the formulation, a good dispersion must be ensured. Storage AFCONA-2723 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiry date is indicated on the container. Defoamer and air-releaser for unsaturated
polyester, Polyurethane, UV and epoxy resin
systems. AFCONA-2723 was develop for better
compatibility than AFCONA 2720 or AFCONA
2722. However the best compatibility defoamer
is still our AFCONA 2724.
AFCONA-2723 is a special additive for thin
layer (gel coat), casting resins and epoxy resin
systems (e.g. floorings). In addition, it can be
used for room temperature curing of unsaturated
polyesters, which are used in glass fiber
