AFCONA – 6225
Dispersant and emulsifier for universal
colourants and perform as colour acceptance
additive. AFCONA-6225 is an improved version of
AFCONA – 6220. It gives better dispersing
performance as well as better colour acceptance
in decorative paints.
Emulsifier Fatty acid modified polyester AFCONA – 6225 has below special properties and recommended in below system:1) AFCONA-6225 works as emulsifier where it can emulsify water into solvent-based coatings. Especially in long oil alkyds to improve the color acceptance for universal commercial colourants. 2) AFCONA-6225 in combination with AFCONA-4560 is recommended to formulate universal colourants for decorative paints as well as for industrial water-based paints. For more details, please refer to the section guide formulations.3) In overall, AFCONA – 6225 is an economic and effective dispersant for water-based systems.4) AFCONA-6225 is an activator for Bentonites as well as for associated and acrylic thickeners.Note: AFCONA – 6225 will become slightly hazy at temperatures below 5° C. This will not influence the qualityAddition and dosageCalculation method for the required amount of active ingredient on pigment:Universal colourants:5 - 10% for inorganic pigments10 - 20% for organic pigmentsBase-paints 0.5 - 1.5% on total based paintsBentonites 15 - 25% on active /thickeners substanceIncorporationAFCONA-6225 can be incorporated in the millbase or used as post additive for colour acceptance.StorageAFCONA-6225 should be stored in a cool dry place. When kept in an original unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiry date is indicated on the container.
