in-cosmetics Asia, the leading event in Asia Pacific for personal care ingredients, will be a hotbed of product innovation when it returns this November, demonstrating why the APAC region is renowned for spearheading some of the world’s biggest beauty trends.

With more than 400 exhibitors joining the line-up, and over 60 exhibiting for the first time, attendees will have boundless opportunities to meet with current and new suppliers, and test and try the latest ingredient innovations in person.

A fresh look at sustainability
Offering a fresh perspective on cosmetic ingredients that are healthy to use and better for the planet, Carbonwave will demonstrate the world’s first seaweed-based cosmetic emulsifier, SeaBalance 2000. The ultra-regenerative, plant-based advanced biomaterial, which was the joint winner of the Best (Functional) Ingredient at the in-cosmetics Korea Awards in July, offers a highly versatile all-natural emulsifier. It works in cold processes with broad spectrum performance in a wide range of applications.

Further highlighting how natural and sustainable alternatives can replace synthetic ingredients, fellow new exhibitor AVT Natural will announce two new products – AVT QG40 and AVT QG90 – made with Quercetagetin extracted from the marigold flower. Sustainably sourced and processed using green solvents, this powerful flavonoid component is recognised for its therapeutic, anti-parasitic, anti-malarial, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumorigenic and anti-viral effects. It is ideal for use in skin and hair applications.

Further championing the industry’s efforts to embrace sustainability, Eurofragrance will present new perfume creations in innovative and sustainable applications, such as confetti soap and solid conditioner. It will also feature an eco-conscious collection of products with vegan, sustainable and eco-certifiable fragrances – the Sensolab collection – that combines innovation and sustainability in applications that seek to inspire and improve consumer experiences.

Elsewhere, Groupe Elixens will present its new aromatic raw materials: organic lemon savory essential oil, organic lemon savory hydrolate, organic calendula and meadowsweet macerates. It will also highlight a wide range of quality natural ingredients that demonstrate the company’s commitment to sustainable development.

Vital-Chem will showcase its natural skin regeneration ingredient, Shikonin (Shikon Extract) which promotes wound healing, and eliminates acne and acne scars, while ROELMI HPC will introduce attendees to its microbiome-focused ingredients for skin wellbeing. This includes a trio of products including its ÆCTIVE® biotechnological GMO-free metabolite; EquiBiotics® LRh probiotic-derived ingredient; and Ener-GY, a cell energy–inducing active ingredient designed to optimise mitochondrial activation.

Science and nature come together
And, at this year’s in-cosmetics Asia, exhibitors from 28 countries will return to take advantage of the opportunity to meet with personal care creators, showcase new ingredients and gain in-person feedback on their products and solutions.

Croda Singapore will celebrate science and nature with a trio of exciting new products, including active ingredient, BB-Biont™ from Sederma – a brand under the Croda umbrella. It preserves the cutaneous microbiome biodiversity while stimulating skin reconstruction and avoiding inflammatory skin damage. Also available on the stand will be Glucohyami™, a natural glucosamine sourced from fresh chicory root sustainably and ethically cultivated; and Nutrinvent™ Balance which uses a novel encapsulated technology to provide the targeted delivery of actives to the scalp to effectively reduce sebum.

Forestwise, the sustainable ingredients supplier, will present its Organic FFL Kukui Nut Oil that is produced from wild, raw materials. Available for the first time in a fairtrade and organic grade, it can be used as a moisturising agent and in haircare as a protecting oil.

Meanwhile, Kobo will showcase its KoboGuard® Natural 2063 oil soluble film former, extracted from pinewood. This resin is highly hydrogenated, exceptionally pale and has outstanding resistance to oxidation and discolouration. It is allergen-tested, making it particularly suitable for use in skin contact products.

Attendees can also test and try Rahn’s brand new Myramaze® essence. The sensocosmetic active ingredient revitalises the skin with the help of all the senses: its scent compounds can lighten the mood even at low-threshold concentrations.

Elsewhere, LipoTrue will help attendees discover how to combat three different types of stresses: “phystress” that depletes the body of energy; “emostress” which puts pressure on the mind; and “envirostress” caused by external aggressors.

Driven by the growing clean beauty movement and helping to demonstrate how to upcycle unwanted by-products to create all-new ingredients, Sensient Beauty will highlight its Natpure Xco Choco CC864 – an extract made from cocoa husks discarded by the chocolate industry. This water-soluble extract is 100% naturally derived and contains antioxidant properties that can be used in skincare, haircare, and personal care applications. It will also introduce its Sensisorb Biomim, which mimics the properties of mycosporine-like amino acids (MMAs). It provides UV protection with SPF booster properties, colour & fragrance protection and is compliant with Thailand and US National Park regulations.

Interactive areas spotlight newly launched ingredients
With a packed show floor, attendees looking to fast-track their way to newly launched ingredients should visit the show’s popular Innovation Zone, sponsored by Mibelle Biochemistry.
